OEL Fastrac Monograph
Amlodipine
Amlodipine is a long-acting dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker used for hypertension and angina. Its potent cardiovascular pharmacology at very low doses makes occupational exposure a significant concern during tablet manufacture, coating, and packaging operations.
Critical Endpoints: Cardiovascular effects (vasodilation, hypotension) are the critical pharmacological endpoints. Embryotoxicity and fetotoxicity observed in animal studies at low multiples of therapeutic exposure.
Why you need this monograph
- High potency requires Band 3 engineering controls for routine handling operations.
- Reproductive and developmental toxicity must be addressed in the OEL derivation.
- Supports ICH M7 and EMA guideline compliance for shared manufacturing facilities.
- Over 20 pages in length with full calculations, cited references, and expert endpoint rationale.
- Instant download — available immediately after purchase.
- Automatic notification when the monograph is revised or updated.
OEL Fastrac enables us to make confident decisions and focus on moving compounds safely through our facility. We can quickly access the database and immediately download a detailed OEL banding report.
