Cyclopentolate Hydrochloride is a defined salt or ionic chemical form recorded by PubChem as Cyclopentolate Hydrochloride. Its molecular formula is C17H26ClNO3, and its relative molecular mass is approximately 327.8 g/mol. Cyclopentolate hydrochloride is the hydrochloride salt of cyclopentolate. It is used to produce mydriasis (excessive dilation of the pupil) and cycloplegia (paralysis of the ciliary muscle of the eye) for opthalmic diagnostic procedures. It acts more quickly than atropine and has a shorter duration of action.

It has a role as a diagnostic agent, a muscarinic antagonist, a parasympatholytic and a mydriatic agent. Its biological or pharmacological significance is governed by the specific molecular form and the interactions described above; dose, exposure route, formulation, and metabolism determine whether an observed effect is therapeutic, toxicological, or simply physicochemical.
