What is Clonixin Lysinate?

Clonixin Lysinate is a defined organic compound recorded by PubChem as Lysine clonixinate. Its molecular formula is C19H25ClN4O4, and its relative molecular mass is approximately 408.9 g/mol. Clonixin lysine salt is an organoammonium salt obtained by combining clonixin with one molar equivalent of L-lysine. Used for treatment of renal colic, muscular pain and moderately severe migraine attacks.

It has a role as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, a non-narcotic analgesic, an antipyretic, an EC 1.14.99.1 (prostaglandin-endoperoxide synthase) inhibitor, a vasodilator agent, a lipoxygenase inhibitor and a platelet aggregation inhibitor. Its biological or pharmacological significance is governed by the specific molecular form and the interactions described above; dose, exposure route, formulation, and metabolism determine whether an observed effect is therapeutic, toxicological, or simply physicochemical.
